One year ago, Edward left Bella in the woods, alone. He'd said that she didn't belong in his life, and that he didn't want her anymore. She actually believed him, and had been crushed. Broken-hearted, she turned to her best friend; Jacob. They started hanging out together and eventually started dating. Things were going smoothly.
Then Edward and the Cullens return to Forks, unexpectedly. Bella is surprised, but she discovers that she still likes him. Jacob doesn't believe she could feel such a way, after all the things Edward had put her through. He starts ignoring her.
Edward and her start to love each other again, the only thing that's stopping her from choosing him is her love for Jacob. She doesn't know how to feel yet.
Leah Clearwater surprises everyone by shifting into a werewolf. No one knew that girls could be shape-shifters. When she becomes a werewolf, she starts crushing on Jacob, even though she already knows he loves Bella. Leah thinks that Bella should be with Edward, she's hurt Jacob enough, and will do anything to make Bella pick Edward.
Tension starts rising in Forks, as Alice sees a vision of Victoria creating an army to kill Bella and destroy the Cullen. The Cullen family goes to search for any friends they can find.
